In today’s edition of “my parents had no idea what I was up to and reading”, I present “Lovecrazy” from. 1983. Sheesh, two teen girls plot to set each other up with THEIR SINGLE, DIVORCED FATHERS. I mean the book is set in NYC in the 80s, but what the heck k?! Eww….the funny thing is I read this in 8th grade or so and thought it was ok. And because I wrote my name in the front of the book, I also passed it along to my friends. Yikes. However, this was also the age of that classic film, “Blame it on Rio”. Look that one up….and I watched it on HBO with my pate ya. No way this book would get published today. I never even tried to get my 22 and 20 year old daughters to read this one.
