I was in middle school and then began high school in 2009. During this time period, I wanted to be popular. I wrote about meeting new guys and who my crushes were. I also wrote about hanging out with my best friends, feeling alone and sad, and struggling to be myself. I recapped my soccer games, kissing guys, taking the trolley to the mall and messing around in stores. I had my first boyfriend during this time period. I was jealous of my best friend because I thought she was prettier than me. We shoplifted a lot and skated around our city. I got a new cell phone. I was trying to make new friends in high school. I snuck out a lot and got grounded. I mentioned the bands I listened to, and wrote some of my own song lyrics. I brainstormed ideas for YouTube videos to make with my friends.” About the AuthorI fell in love with journaling when I was 10 years old, after my grandma gifted me a diary for Christmas. When I was 19, I had a strange dream. I was in my room in my childhood home, and I saw a man I’d never met before reading my diaries. He was a psychologist and he was psychoanalyzing me as a person by reading my journal entries. This dream inspired me to sell my diaries. Reading someone’s diary is like reading their mind.
