Previous owner stamped his name on top & bottom page edges & title pages. Stain on outer page edges. Reading pages are excellent, clean & unmarked, no rips or tears. Shipped with USPS Media Mail. Caught up in problems of industry and integration, the South bulks large in American history. This book is first to record in detail it’s eventful history since the end of the Civil War. The Book derives from the thesis that one of the principal causes of the Civil War was the divergence between Northern and Southern cultural patterns. Dr. Ezell traces the South’s return to the Union after the war, a series of concessions and changes which yet allowed it to retain its own regional characteristics.
